I have a stock 1987 454 that I am changing from TBI to carberation, wondering if the cam will work or will the performance suffer?

It wll work JUST fine, but you could get a ton more power outta it if you throw a bigger cam in it...TBI requires A LOT of vaccum to work right an not freak out the ECM. This means that a TBI -friendly cam will usually be very low duration...With a carb, just throw a cam that suites you needs in and forget about it.

like said, a tbi cam is mild, even compared to a stock carb cam, I'd definetally look into a new cam.

Thanks for the info, I am going to try to get a new cam. Its not alot of money for a substanial gain in power.
