My 1984 K5 came with 235/75/15 stock. Still have the factory sticker on the door sill. If you want a pic of it, let me know.

Actually OE would be 235/75/R15 for standard equipment I believe. 31x10.5x15 tires were optional I think, at least on the pickups anyway. I have the 31's listed on my RPO code sheet.

So can you not print out the page for your year brochure from the site mentioned above, and take that to them? 31x10.5R15 is shown as an option for your year.

Which brings to mind, is your glovebox sticker still intact? If it is, and 31x10.5R15 is listed, you've got them.

    31x10.5
    32x11.5 (next size up)
    33x12.5 (2 sizes up)

    What's the problem?

Ok, with that "settled", what does the law actually say? Is it "2 sizes larger than the vehicle originally came with" or "2 sizes larger than the largest tire offered on the vehicle from the factory"?

31x10.5R15 was a *factory available option* installed on many of these trucks, there should be no hassle with a 33" tire. I can't see them telling two people with the exact same vehicle that one can and one can't have 33's based on the original owners option picking.
