    Police called me at home last night (approx. 1830HRS) regarding my checkbook being stolen. After verifying my name, address, and phone number he said he found a women that he just arrested with my checkbook.
    This morning when I went to the bank to see if any checks were written;
    $3131.83 in stolen checks was written :mad: :mad: :( :( !!!

    Besides the fact that I can't order my rockwell's this week; I feel like I was raped and dumped on the side of the road.

    The insult to injury was that the companies that took the checks never verified the info with the I.D. of the person who wrote them!!! My name is NOT John Smith!!!

    So what does your bank say? Are they going to cover you for the stolen checks and moneys withdrawn?

    Dude. That sucks. Big time. Act quickly and follow up on everything.
    If you let the powers that be try to sort it out, it will end up on YOUR credit report. Believe me, I sat next to guy who had his checkbook stolen. 2 years later, he still couldn't buy a house, get a good rate on a car loan, and would field calls from collectors who "never got the notice from the police."

    From what I understand your bank has to verify your signature. So if they cleared the check with a fony or forged signature they must make good to you the money that was transferred.
