My k5 was stolen at 4:00pm today. It is a 1973 with dark green paint with a black top, 3/4 ton axles, 315/75-16 Goodyear MTR tires and Eagle 589 wheels. My neighbor talked to the two men that took it. They were middle aged white males. It has a 4" lift and white seats. Please keep a look out. Thanks ColoradoK5.
I was taken for 5520 Miami St. (near 56th and Maple).

Your neighbors TALKED to the people who STOLE your car? /forums/images/graemlins/screwy.gif

Am I the only one who finds that the least bit suspicious?

I hope you get your truck back. And I'd question that "neighor" some more. Make sure that those two !@#!'s arent his friends.

Plate is NDK 484. VIN: CKY183F133978
Neighbors are 13, and 18 year old girls. The the thieves have been trying to take this truck since Nov. (before the neighbors moved in). I took out the steering wheel, column shifter, the battery was dead, and I had a lock on the brake. I should have left the chain on the wheels.
I know they live near me somewhere. The trouble started as soon as I moved here. I'll canvas the neighbor hood with pictures tonight/tomorrow.

[/ QUOTE ] You'd be suprised what turns up down in South East Omaha. Belive me, I lived down there for many years, so I know what happens down around Railroad ave. Oooppssss, said too much. BTW, the longest street in the world is in Omaha. 24th runs all the way from Mexico to Africa. Well, maybe ya have to be from Omaha too get that one.

I use to live @ 144 & Blondo. Use to live just off Radial Hwy. in the "Big O" before that, so I know what you are talking about!

Keep an eye out in the local classifieds for similar parts for sale. Happened to a friend of mine and he came across the wheels and tires in a add. He went out to see them but he couldn't prove they were his so no luck. Hope you get it back.

Mine was stollen last year, but my ex gf saw it at the store, and sat next to it waiting for me, called my cell to tell me she was waiting outside for me, and found out it was stolen, had it back in less than 5 hours.

No word yet on the K5. I won't get any insurance money. I only carry liability. I hope to atleast get a shell back. Either way I'll probably be out of the Chevy truck game until next summer. I thought about a Scout or a CJ-7(or 8), but there's just nothing cooler and more useful than a full convertable 3/4 ton Blazer.

Thanks I might take you up on that offer. Its never to early to start gathering parts for the next truck. The 3/4 tons I had actually came for South Dakota.

I have some 33's if you need 'em

Sorry to hear it. May the thieves be struck with venereal infections, and eaten alive by sabre-toothed Chinese crotch crickets...
