i lifted my truck recently. don't know if that's relevant or not. the noise became noticable after the lift, but it could be coincidental.
when i let off the throttle, there's a rattling sound that i can't exactly pinpoint. it's definitely in the rear, and i think it's in the rear-end itself. it goes away once i lose speed, but if i just barely touch the pedal, i can make the sound again, until i have to speed up again. mostly during nuetral throttle slowing. by the time the engine speed slows me down, the noise disappears.
my neighbor guessed backlash adjustment on my gears(???).

Check to see how much spline engagement is left on the driveshaft after the lift. There might be too little engagement so the driveshaft is rattling on the splines. [IMG]

If not what Harry said, try checking the U-joints. You may have had worn u-joints before and now the lift may be making it more noticable. That would be the cheapest thing to try first. And if it not it then you know you have new u-joints.

Will work for beer, parts and tools.
