street addresses

    when they build a new house between other houses on the same street, how do they come up with the new house number??

    Was this land always vacant and a home not built yet ? Or did two neighbors sell some of their land ? Could of been given an address in advance .

    Do you know the numbers of both existing houses , are they evenly spaced like the were next to each others ?

    Usually two houses next to each other have more than two numbers difference in the address. If they're close enough to each other to have that close of addresses then I don't think there would possibly be any room for a new house. Our lot has about 150 ft. of frontage and just for that small area the difference between our address and our neighbor's is 100.
