So far, I'm still corked up and frankly, I'm very happy. If I open it up to the full capability I'll decrease my available torque/hp at lower rpms even out at mid and gain dramaticly at high rpms. The way its stand now gives me everything I need. I might upgrade later but....

i honestly wouldn't do it. With the 5.7" rods, the oil rings get twitchy, IIRC. also, the notching and machining of the block can get pricey.

Furthermore, with that utlra powerful engine, what about the steam holes in the heads? those will cost a bit to machine. and the 400's were never known for their cooling capacity.

a 454 can be had and be VERY reliable for those kinds of dollars.
