What are my options for this combo, personal opinions on strength of the tranny? Want the 203 compatability for a doubler setup. Any price vs performance compromises with similar setups or custom doublers off other t-case's?

I suspect the NV4500 is about the only option out there.

Nv4500$$$$$ and Advanced Adaptors$$$$$ is about it. The NV was mated to a 241 I think but it's a driver side drop so not going to work. If you were putting this in a truck you might be able to run a divorced 205. Not really enough room to do that on a K5 though.

    A pass-drop 241C from a TH400/4L80E will bolt straight up to a 4wd NV4500. I think the only think you'd find this 32-spline 241C in is a 88-91 3/4-ton.

    For NV4500/NP203 compatibility....

The Ford NP203 has the same 6-bolt round pattern as the NV4500. If you swapped a 32-spline (TH400) input into the Ford 203, they *should* bolt up (possibly needing a thin spacer).

Another route is to re-drill a 32-spline NP203 for the 6-bolt pattern. (I think Steve Watson has endorsed this method)
