I wanted to swap a cummins into a jeep and I posted questions. Go to my profile and go to the bottom and click on all user's posts. It's on page two. Good luck.

IIRC, Jeep offered a 4cyl diesel option in the late '60s. Seen a '67ish CJ-6 with on for sale once. 4 cyl perkins maybe?

I've never had any personal experience with them but I've heard not so good things about older jeeps (poor transmission / unreliable / frequent roolovers / etc.
Like I said, I've never had any trouble with them, but if it were me I'd look to the early nineties jeeps.
