Ok....a couple years ago, I believe it was in a JCWhitney catalog I remember seeing something. It's fastens around your steering wheel like a club and then part of it hangs down at an angle to stick out over your stereo. However it was more then a simple club...it was a stun gun/taser. I remember thinking how freaking cool is that? But it was like $250 bucks. I'm beginning to think if I can find it again it'd be worth it. A thief breaks in and he grabs the device...he gets a shock. He grabs it again to be shocked only a little stronger...it builds up eveytime it's touched. If he grabs to it it sends a small shock and then increases higher if they hang on rapidly... I have no problem with with shocking the snot out of a thief. I'd have my whole Blazer live if I could! LOL Of course that's not possible...but if anyone knows what I am talking about here help me out! I want one. You break into my baby you deserve to be shocked until you soil yourself.... sorry I am just sick of having things ripped off and this seems like it might be cool....! Otherwise I might end up sleeping in my rig with a shot gun everynight and I really don't wanna do that......

I was thinking about modifying a stun gun to work just under the driver seat thru flexible metallic treads woven into the seat fabric. I would wire the threads to be hot thru three switches. One would be the arming switch, another would be a micro-switch activated by weight on the seat. and the third would activate the stun gun output when the ignition is on. The thief would get a mega-volt jolt in the genital area, when turning on the ignition. To test the system, I think I would park the Blazer a bad area, with the doors unlocked and the key in the ignition. Then I would watch from a hidden location and take notes on well it performed. LMAO!!!

I'd find another way to test it out [IMG]...what if it decided to mess up? Then you'd be standing in a bush with a notepad watching your rig drive off and taking notes on the thiefs description! [IMG]

Thanks Mudhog....I really am interested in shocking the crud out of any fool stupid enough to mess with my Blazer....

Steph,
Although I totally agree with you totally on makin 'em suffer if they try to steel my baby. You might wanna check your local laws, especially since your in Cal. In most states YOU can be held responsible if you set a trap which injures the thief. Even here in TN it's illegal and you could get sued if he hurt himself, due to your setting a trap, while tryin to steel your car, break in your house or whateve. I think it sux, and is taking the thief's rights too far, but I'm sorta in law enforcement and am sure that it's true here! I camp a lot and sleep in the back of my K5 with my 9mm!!! I've also got two switches that disable it for when I'm not around.

The whole seat shocking thing actually works. At the car dealership i work at one of the techs. as a joke stripped off about a 3 foot piece of wire, so it was totally bare, and hidden under the seat cover, then the other end went to one of the coils, He then asked another tech to hop in and crank it for him !!! Well,.... it works !!! thats all i can say...

I understand what you are saying but I honestly couldn't care less if it's illegal or not. If you are breaking into my truck to steal it and or my things you deserve it. I doubt anyone busting in would call the cops on me to say "Hey while I was breaking into this Blazer I was stunned..." LOL....if they were (stupid enough to admit they did break in) hurt and tried to sue me, go for it. I'll sue back for twice as much for destruction of private property. Getting only a shock is mild to what they'd get from a butt load of buckshot that is for sure! [IMG] I'm a nice person but when it comes to stuff like this I have to draw the line. <In Italian mobster accent>You toucha my Blazer, I breaka you face!

My brother and i were daydreaming the other day about how to keep them from steeling your rig..... Here's his idea:
A fuel injector mounted on the steering column, then something to set off a spark ! [IMG] Might be a little hard on the headliner,...... but OH what a feeling it'd be !!!

Naw I am not violent really. I just get so sick of people ripping off hard working folks! It makes me more then slightly angry to think of how much time and energy I used to get the money to buy my Blazer only to have my stereo system ripped out and the Blazer damaged. Then insurance who should help you looks at you and says oh darn loop hole here's 43 cents go buy yourself a ummm well nothing because you can't buy jack for 43 cents.....I love my Blazer. But a person can only take so much being ripped off and having to wonder when they'll be ripped off next! Why I am wanting to do something more then ring a bell if they try to get me....I just am sick of being ripped off.....I want them to know it! [IMG]

You know what , I understand what you mean, however in my opinion the trouble that you would get into would could far outway the satisfaction that you get from "getting" the thief. Its almost like jumping out of the frying pand and into the fire.
Just recently here in Dallas a customer of mine shot and killed a 18 year old kid who was stealing his truck. The kid was in a tow truck and was armed, he also had another car with them that was occupied and load with a few armed thugs. They fired first after he warned them and he killed one injured two. It was in the local news, ANYWAYS, this was a few months ago. They are still investigating the crime, he still does not have his truck , which they WILL take from you as eveidance and you wont get it back in the same condition it left for its stay at the pound. He has had to hire 2 attorneys, one for the legal recours and one for the civil recourse. He has NO remorse for killing the guy, but he does say that if he had it to do again he would just let them take the truck.

I know my method won't always work for everyone but I have a dog that thinks the K5 is hers. You have to get past her to get to the K5. She's not big (122#) but she is fast and she hates strangers at night. Had a kid 17, try & steal a bike, bad idea for him. Dog never bit him, but the kid was begging for me to call the dog off, nothing like canine teeth snapping to put fear into someone. Oh, never called the dog off until I called the police and they arrived to pick the punk up.

Hey there,
That Stun Bar you speak of is way cool, It turns on by way of motion detector, and delivers 300,000 volts. Its like a cattle prod. But last time I was in Tidy Car down on Arden & Bell they carried it. I have my own shop so I'll See if I can locate those.
I think those were great.!!! Go ahead get in to my truck!! ...lol

It's actually legal here in CA to use. I just found that out today. It's also considered a non-lethal use of protection. If someone were to die, it's not considered the same as a gun being used to injure/kill. It's like if you spray someone with pepper spray and they die because they were allergic to it. You were using a no lethal form of defense. Or if you ran out and smacked someone with a bat and then they died due to you hit them in the leg and a blood clot went to there heart and killed them. You were trying to simply slow them down and stop them not kill them. That's all I want to do. I don't want anyone to die here. I just want some punk to get a little taste back of what they are trying to give out....I'm gonna check with a friend who is a police offer to make sure. But from all I have found it's legal......
