Having problems lately with some websites - tonight it's LL Bean's. Can't get the page to show up. I tried Googling directly to the item I want to order, and I actually got the left-side navigation stuff to show by doing that, but no products will show. Tried linking from numerous other shopping sites, nothing. All my IE settings are (in my mind, anyway) OK, latest M$ updates, all that trash. Running ZoneAlarm firewall and McAfee Antivirus '06.

Anyone got advice? (OTHER THAN switch to another browser - I'm not ready for that project yet...)

Try resetting all your IE options to defaults. Then make sure you have cookies enabled.

Try turning off the firewall and then hitting the site, sometimes firewalls do wierd things to complicated web sites.

Can you hit other frame sites ok?

    OK, in order:

No, I don't have another browser. Like I said, I'm not ready to mess with another browser just yet.
    LL Bean

I'm gonna hold off on resetting all the IE options to default. I've got the same settings I've always used in there, and this is a new problem.

Tried killing ZA, didn't make a diference. Gimme another frame site to try, and I'll give it a shot.

Is Mozilla the same as Firefox? (Yes, my ignorance is showing...)
LowesNet (their internal thin-client network) uses Mozilla so I'm kinda familiar with that as a user...

How about http://www.ebay.com ? The structure looks similar, both using tables.

Actually, it looks like the llbean site uses a good bit of java. You might have to install/reinstall your java machine.

See if you can see the clock here:
    http://nist.time.gov/timezone.cgi?Eastern/d/-5/java

If you can't then you probably have to fix java. If you can, that doesn't mean java is not the problem. Just kind of a more likely way to figure out if it is.

If it is, try downloading and installing the sun java client:
    http://www.sun.com/download/index.j...s&tab=3&subcat=Java Software for your Browser

    OK, in order once again:

eBay works, LL Bean still doesn't.
    Saw the clock just fine.
Should I try that Sun Java anyway?

I have IE set to delete TIF's whenever IE is closed. I still do it manually every few days anyway, along with clearing History. I delete cookies about once a week when I run AdAware and Spybot scans (before the scans, actually - reduces the # of hits to look into).

Just for grins, I tried a hot restart, then a cold restart; no dice...

I'd try the sun java anyway. It won't be bad for it, and it might fix it.
