dual 10" subs in a 4 port box...if i set them right side up nothing covering the holes...it sounds like there is no pressure in the box...no bass

if i take something and cover up two port holes (a 6x9 box fits perfecly) i get really deep bass out of it

they used to work fine...dont know what happend to them

The speakers are probably wired out-of-phase with each other..... that would definitely cause the problem you describe.

he does mention that they were working before, so i don't think wiring would be a problem unless he messed with it.

In my experience....it's the information NOT given by the poster that often leads to the solution. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

    lol
i rewired it last night...cut off the ends and stripped new wire for it...still doing it

it seems like its just one of them...i change the balance from L to R and it gets better/worse....prob need to open the box and look at the wiring, mabye something metal got in there or something to that effect

Throw an ohmmeter on each one before too much longer.....

A burnt voicecoil will have close to 0 ohms (shorted) and that can explain a lot.

You can also use the "battery trick" to make sure that the speakers are TRULY wired in-phase with each other. The cone moves OUT when power is applied and the wiring is correct.
