Finished the install of my new tube bumper from 4x4 Iron today(I have the side armor but it will be installed later). Since the Jimmy is still a daily driver the law requires a lighted license plate. I have a couple of ideas, but am open for suggestions. I am trying to keep the drilling or cutting of the new bumper to a minimum.

when i installed my rear lisence plate i just used very small sheet metal screws and mouted the plate in the middle of the rear door trim. you now the aluminum piece that has chevy or gmc embloms on it. as for the light i'm using the stock one until i get my aluminum diamond plate and locate a better one that will work.

Try NAPA, I had a light I got from them a few yrs. ago.It attached with 2 screws. On the bad side it was kinda fragile.Hope this helps, the cops around here will pull you over in a heartbeat if you don't have one. Jason

Those boat lights look cool. Summit sells something like those that are made as license plate lights...they go right through the license plate in the top 2 holes...so you would only have to drill 2 holes.

Look around the aisle at the parts store that has glow-in-the-dark brake pedals, cell phone holders and stuff like that. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif I found a black plastic license plate frame that came with lights built into the top of it. Cost about $10 and bolted right to the bumper. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
