I just put one of these things on my truck about 2 weeks ago.. never driven without it, so I wouldn't notice a power difference. Anyone know if it's comparable to a K&N? Looks almost the same, but the Summit one seems to look a bit more ridgid and cardboard like. I'm just wondering if it's worth shelling out another $40 for a 14" x 5" K&N element to throw on the open element setup I have currently.

Look closely at the filter and see if it says K&N on it anywhere. Sometimes places will just relabel things and sell them as their own through an agreement with the mfg.

Is the Summit filter washable? If not, just pick up a K&N the next time it needs changed.

If it is.. Hmm.. Does any of your buddies have a K&N you could swap out for a couple day to see if you notice a difference? That way you could see if it actually does make a difference before you shell out the cabbage..
