    summit\'s \"lowering \"shackle.

I have the ORD flip and I plan to switch the brackets from left to right and vise versa and run the furd 57's to do this I want to get the lowering shackle that summit sells to get a better angle with the shackle.

I know I will weld the open side up to give it more strength but my question to those of you who are running it.

    does it come with bushings?
    how much longer is it?
    do you like it?

    TIA
    -Jeremy

I know it's not an answer for ya...but when you swap the shackle flip side-to-side, and install it in the same spot the previous stock shackle was, does that give the correct positioning for the f*rd 57" springs (with the lowering shackle you referenced)? Thanks...sorry to hijack.

They do come with the bushing installed if your talking about the Belltech #6400 lowering kit & they are about 2" longer than stock.

I've looked at the same shackle to add additional flex to my rear springs.Look at the "desert Steel" or "Steel Horse" versions. They look a bit more sturdier than the Summits.Of course if you are going to weld a piece(good idea!) in it then it really should not matter.Still waiting to see what kind of additional lift it will provide.I'm running 56" long rear springs and moved the shackle flip back 2",so at this point the shackle is at an 60 degree angle. It provides anice soft ride but loading sucks!Mike
