Today, Bubba Ray hit the Road to Raines. With an overall game plan shotdown with more holes than a piece of Swiss, Bubba Ray recovered to at least make a game out of the run with a modification in the traction department.

The Stock Poser K5, running on the 33" BF Goodrich Mud Terrains for the last 5 years was screaming for new tires, so a few months ago, Bubba Ray struck a deal with a fellow wheeler for some used 35" BF Goodrich Mud Terrains. Now when the seller said these tires were never wheeled, Bubba Ray was on guard, but after a careful inspection with the eyes and tire depth gauge, Bubba Ray became the owner for the small pittance of $300.

Now y'all out there are saying, wait a sec, Bubba Ray ain't gonna wheel with 35s on the Stock Poser K5. Well Bubba Ray says /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif. Y'all see, Bubba Ray in the grand scheme of things should be in full effect with the Stock Poser K5 Desert Prerunner project come spring time and the 35" will be needed.

So let's get to what Bubba Ray had simmering today...........

After getting raped without the benefit of KY yesterday at the tire shop, Bubba Ray began the process of fitting and measuring for these tires today.

The first and only fit that happened today was on the rear. It was ascertained that fender trimming was not needed, but after spying some pics of Brian Collins' hotrod Blazer prerunner, Bubba Ray decided that a cool looking fender trim in the rear would not only enhance the appearance of the Stock Poser K5, but would unleash some needed horsepower.

So without further ado, Bubba Ray presents the pic of the fitment with an overview added with measurements to show the world the first extreme modification to the Stock Poser K5.

As far as the $$$$ will take me, which means I won't get out of the starting gate. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

It's staying strickly leaf springs all the way around, but it will be built to run good and I will use every low $$$$$ idea that I can come up with that will work. It will be a long road, but hopefully it will be something to be proud of.

i would just cut straight back and a bit higher up. it would help the departure angle, assuming you will be fabbing a prerunner rear bumper/tire carrier type deal and there is a body line to follow (or that is what it think)

The pic doesn't show it, but the cut will be even with the bottom of the tailgate. I'm going to delve off and see if I can't find a pic real quick.

I like the fenders with the taper, and that's what I want to do, though cutting straight across might be easier.

When I put the tires on I should gain another 100 HP, but in reality I'm running 3.73 gears so I'm gonna be hating life. I'm thinking that right now, I'm gonna only offroad with the 35's and keep the 33's for daily driver duty until I can step up in gear ratios.

Yup, that's the one. Both are post glass huh? The top one, the edge of the fender looks somewhat canted compared to the other picture. Guess it's the angle you took the picture at?

Hate to blow your plans but you cant cut up to the tailgate without some ugly suports showing that hold the side of the truck on. Look up under it and see what I mean. To hide the ugly part you would need to cut about 5 inches below the tail gate even with the tail pan.

Michael I'm going to have to ban you soon if you keep showing these pictures of sweet trucks. I just talked myself back into reality and passed up a FREE 74 K5 with no running gear or axles and a C20 truck with a SF 14 I could probably get for $500 that I wanted to make a 3/4 ton 2wd pre runner out of and you go and show me that. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif
