They're pretty cool, but for $10K I can build a complete 1-ton! I know it's not the same thing but still!
We have a customer in Canada (BC I think) that's doing some of the same thing. Big problem you run into putting them under a production frame is the ride height. I don't like much more than 6" of lift so I couldn't run much for suspension on those. But you might not need to!
The coarse spline shaft looks a little ugly. It's big but seems like a few more teeth might help out the durability!

Making the world better, one truck at a time.

    Hm....that would be me!

Truck is tall (8 feet) but it is surprisingly stable. 25 degree side hills and it's still glued to the ground.

Not worried about the coarse spline. The shaft is bigger than a C14 FF (35mm dia), splines sit on top of that, and you're talking half the torque on the shaft thanks to the portals.

Already done burn-outs on the 44's and nothing popped.

Expect a competitor to Tibus in a week or two...

ORD related: Stephan, thanks again for your advice. The truck has both your steering braces (weld and bolt on), it should have mention in the Can4x4 article coming out in a week or so.

I can pick up a matched pair of Mog axles here for $2700 Cdn. ($1800 USD). So yeah i'd say $10,000 is a little on the spendy side.

That price has to be with disk brake conversions. Costs of the parts do add up. $2700Cdn - is that with pinion conversions, that you'll need?

Yup, that's with the pinion conversion already done but with drum brakes still.

Better yet this guy is local so no shipping...

Hm. Sounds like Don. I haven't spoke to with him for a while, but last I heard his prices jumped from that number a fair bit.

I think we're talking about the same guy..."Taradon".

Those prices are what he quoted me in December, or possibly late November...
