    Where is Gilmer?

I could stop being lazy and look at a map.

It looks like a 5 hour or so drive from Austin. I will be in Dallas Friday night. How far is it from Dallas?

Gilmer is in East Texas it is about 2 hours east of Dallas off of I-20. Yes it would be about 5 to 6 hours from Austin. If you want to go just take I-20 east exit Hwy271 north and stay on 271 until you come too Hwy 155 north exit there and Barnwell Mtn. is 5 miles east of Gilmer off of Hwy 155. It is behing an old rest area up on a big hill, there are signs. Let me know if you wnat too come and I will PM you my cell number /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

It doesnt look like there would be enough time for me to drive there. I have to be back in Austin by 6PM on Saturday. Oh well, maybe next time.

We were out there on Saturaday from 9am to 3ish. The wife and I hooked up with some heepers from Dallas and Houston and rode with them pretty much all day. Everyone was in groups and did different trails at different times, we had a blast. Anyway, don't remeber seeing your buds heep nor anyone stuck in a mud pit. Ask him if he made it up DeWoody trail. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
