Superlift Superride VS Tuff Country (6\") opinions please

Ok I'm looking at the options for my front lift. Gonna go with either Tuff Country or Superlift fron 6" springs and shocks all the way around. Now with steering arm, shocks, and springs here is the prices- Superlift $437 TC $413 So which would you suggest? I know 6" springs won't flec the best and that they won't ride as nice as 4" springs but which will be better? I'm HEAVILY leaning towards the Superlift setup.

FWIW I have the Superrides. They not only flex like crap, but they sagged out over an inch in less than 8000 miles. Go with the TCs.

They seem to flex okay to me. Had them for 2 years with out considerable amount of sag /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Hmmm... You know, you got me thinkin here. I remembered that before the latest buildup, I had some pretty short shocks on the truck. It could be that those are what was limiting me before. I haven 't tested it out since I put on the long travel RS9000s... What shackles are you running? Greasable bushings? Any other voodoo majik worked on the front? I've been real upset about the lack of flex that I have in the front, hopefully now that I've fixed the issues with the shocks the springs will work better. The amount of flex you're getting out of yours is amazing compared to what I got.

Hmm, I am going with greasable bushings and have been considering doing F250 towers with longer travel shocks.

I run 9012 shocks, ORD shackles(greasable) opened up the clamps and that is about it. Mine ride nice and haven't sagged enough for me to notice or care. my $.02

If you get a chance could you take a picture of the springs at normal ride height? The reason that I think mine have sagged is because they look like everyone else's 4" springs, and also that measurement deal that Watson posted about a while back calculated my truck out to about 6" of total lift over stock. That's with a D60 and a 1" 0 rate, as well as the springs, so it should have come closer to 8" total lift. I've loosened my clamps and put on 9012s, no greasable shackles yet because my headers are in the way, but I'm going to try to get that worked out...

I still think that TCs have more potential for flex, just from everything I've heard on here. My Superlifts don't even have the anti-friction pads between the leaves.

Please Jack, don't tell me that yours have the anti-friction pads, I'll have to go postal on 4WPW over a sale made 5 years ago... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

My bad, I forgot about that I added full length teflon friction pads!! Cost me about 30 bucks. I think the ones from the factory are better because the stay in place. I have BDS springs in back now and I am really happy with them. I think next time around it will be BDS for the front. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Yeah, this is making more sense now... I knew that some simple mod would not make the things go from what I was getting to that sick amount of flex. I was thinking about doing the Anti-friction inserts between the leaves, but I think I'm just going to sell these springs and get some Tuff Countrys or BDSs instead.

I ran the Superlift Springs for years and hd no issues. Flexed like mad, rode well, minimal sag.

I have the 4" Superlift's. I am noe flex expert or anything, but I can stuff my front tires enough to make a 33x12.5 rub pretty well. I haven't noticed mine sagging at all. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Since this pic I have removed the swaybar and a shock on each side up front. That helped a lot too.

The difference is going to be the stiffness or spring rate.
The Superlifts are on the high end and the TC's are on the low end.
Heres a list of 4" spring rates
4" spring rate table
I believe the BDS 4" rates are around 425.

What's the differences between the spring packs beside the number of leaves?

How thick are the leaves and are both sets tapered at the ends?
