I think it is both. They have the frame, and drivetrain of a truck, aswell as the road/offroad manors. But on the other hand, they do not have beds (the K5 has a half bed type deal), and they are actually considered to be SUV's.

I call mine a truck, insurance and police call it SUV. Last ticket I got something mailed home about it and it called my K5 an SUV. My mom busted up laughing when she looked out the window at my K5 on 33s and read it over and over to herself.

[/ QUOTE ]Sweet SUV you got there...

My Tahoe has a tailgate, and just as much of a bed as a K5 or Suburban. It is also 4wd. The fact that you can take the top off doesn't mean that it's a Truck, nor does the fact that it has a solid front axle rather than independant front suspension.

My Tahoe is an SUV. So is a K5. But they have a lot of Truck qualities. /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif

I hear ya... "4DRSW" is what my title says /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

The '57 Burb I used to have was classed "SDEL" which I assume means Sedan Delivery.

    SUV's they aren't. I have hard time attaching 15-year-old nomenclature to vehicles with a 67 and 34 year-old lineage. /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif

I'm sorry, but the fact is... they are considered to be SUV's by GM. If GM designed and built them as SUV's, then that's what they are.

the K5 became the 2dr Blazer became the 2dr Tahoe became the 4dr Tahoe... my 4dr Tahoe is an SUV

The Suburban became the Suburban... the Suburban is an SUV

Just because a tahoe is a suv dosent mean a k5 is mabe you can consider a 92 and up k5 to be a suv but I dont consider 91's and down to be one

i would consider it an suv because its a multi person vehicle, with most capabilities of a truck...like hauling items taller than the roofline...which you could do in a blazer with a removeable top, the rear seat and rollbar removed...so they're a TRUV?

my 79 BLAZER is now a stubby bed pick-up,much like the useless 6ft bed and smaller trucks today.the title says station wagon and thats great for ins. i'm not into fartzy cutzy little nick-names like SUV or micky D's.even my two year old can tell a truck from a car. /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gifto /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif
