Anyone know if Swamper is making a speed rated tire, say V=149mph ?
Got a supercharged 454, and the gears and should put it at about 160 mph at 3300 rpms.
But it will take some time, and the swampers will heat-up for sure.

Why don't you use the BFG Project or Baja tire, they must be rated pretty high because they use them in offroad racing.

Where did you get this from ? Is it an opinion ?
Can you please post the source ?
    Thanks

Being a Blazer has the same drag coefficient of a cynder block, I dout you would get it rolling that fast nor would you want to have the handling characteristics of a brick wall at that speed. Speeds like that are why God created the Vette.

Time to break out that physics book and read about the coefficients of drag. [IMG]

I don't think you could get a lifted K5 with Swampers up to 160 MPH even if you dropped it out of an airplane. [IMG]

I've gotten the ZZ4 up to 129 (yes 129) once. Never again. The 4" lift and 35" BFG MT's did not make it fun. I had one of those GPS speedos in the cab so it was very correct. I have always said the Jimmy has the aerodynamics of a brick.

    *cough cough* BULL$#@!...

NO way in hell you can go that fast... not w/ a lift and bigger sized tires... and then figure in the crap aerodynamics of the blazer. SO... where are the pics of this motor? I'd love to see it [IMG]

Well maybe the big block just does not have enough POWER, so the swampers will be safe !
What do you'll think the top speed will be then, in 5th or 6th gear ?
Also anyone know where they run the Unlimited Speed Course around here ?
    Thanks

Maybe you didnt build the motor properly. [IMG]

If you are lucky, you could probably get the truck up to 100 mph, but no faster. I wouldn't want to be riding with you or driving anything that went that fast for a jacked up 4x4!!!

The only "unlimited speed course" I can think of are the highways in Montana, where there is no speed limit. Go check them out and let us know. [IMG]

Im getting a digital camera this weekend. You can have pictures of both trucks and their respective powerplants.
This stupid act on my part was on a strech of highway that has little traffic on it. It was in 3rd gear on my sm465 (1.57:1) and the motor was turning approx 6800RPM's. I had 3.42 gears at the time. At 100 or so I hit the 125 shot of Nitrous. I am pretty sure of what I was looking at when I checked the speedo.

I said i'd never do it again, FOR SURE. I was being stupid trying to impress some friends. Now I only do things like that on the racetrack with a CAR. I only sanddrag the Jimmy and my K20 now.

Respectfully I know I cannot convince you of this, nor do I care if you can be convinced. However it did happen. I am the one who really knows how/what happened, and it was a really dumb thing to do. I have no reason to lie to or try to impress anyone on this board. I am here to help and enjoy the company of others that like the 73-91 Blazers and trucks as much as I do.

***I will stress again that this was not a good idea. I do not think (I know) that this was an intended use by GM. GM did not design these vehicles for that kind of speed. It showed! I could have hurt people and I realize that now.***

    [IMG] Cool Beans Dude!!! [IMG]

That sounds awesome to have Nitrous in a 4x4!!! [IMG]

BTW, I agree with NOT using Nitrous on the highway, but using NOS in mud would be an awesome sight to see!!! Imagine rooster tails shooting 100 feet in the air!!! [IMG]

f.y.i. there is no longer any states that do not have speed limits, the last state changed it about 6 months to a year ago.

How about in 7th or 8th gear? Maybe you need two big blocks? Maybe its time to refill your prescription again?[IMG]

I can throw sand about 50 feet into the air. It would go higher but the wheelwells stop alot of it. [IMG]

    Hey Ex,

You are right about the BB not having enough juice for the swampers. Now if you had............lets say........a nice little four banger in there you might be in trouble. But even with the BB I think you should be able to get there with the right gearing in the rear and having the truck in 6th gear. And you know what else? We could time you with a calander.[IMG]

And for th U.S.C..........just ask any highway patrol officer to clear off your nearest fwy.[IMG]

    See Ya,
    Keith

Thanks for the reply's. Well the computor is now saying maybe only 142 MPH, becuase the drag coeffiecnt
was entered wrong. Still looking for a nice desert strech about 5-10 miles long. Will be using the new P.Jones
33 for the test run. I have a helment but no fire suite, anyone know where to rent one ?

maybe he's got those awesome 2.32:1 gearsets and 44's. Dang it flies at 160, but it sucks ass trying to pull the boat!!

Speed rated swampers, wtf? Makes about as much sense as drag slicks that are grooved like boggers.
