ok the question I have is , is there any way to swap from a auto to a manual, without changing cranks. I was wondering if the crank can be drilled for the pilot bearing.

AFAIK all the small block cranks are drilled anyways...

I converted from th350 auto to sm465 manual and yes, all the cranks have a pilot hole for the pilot bushing.
