    Swap\'en Motor Mounts *UpDated*

    The Cure All Vibrations....(almost)

Well those what read this post yesterday got a feel for my problems. I was having a hard time getting my old motor mounts out. Well with the help from my dad (DuneRunnersDad) and a 5lbs. sledge and a 100 watt lamp. We finished it in about 2.5 hours.

I took it for a Cruz last night after all the work and no Vibs what so ever... Except for the fact that the tires might be off balance. The old mounts where both Thrashed. (Nubs cracked almost all the way through) It is one of the best Fix's I've done yet.

I think that I have replaced almost all of the Factory rubber on the DuneRunner. SO Hopefully it will last another 20 years. Yyaaaa....

Thank you all that helped out... /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

i would hook it to a lift and do it that way.

having both undone, they should come out fairly easily. did u get both bols out of each motor mount?

Re: Swap\'en Motor Mounts on my 83...HELP

I just did mine recently with no problems...

I removed the bolts from both sides simultaneously and used a floor jack under the pan with a 2X4. Much easier than doing one side at a time...

i just used factory sheit with mine. new ones will last a while. I am not making enuff power to justify the cost. I got headers for what the motor mounts would have costed.

if you have a BBC of Caddy 500 motor, that would be the way to go.

Same goes for me as well...factory rubbers...stock GM parts are usually good enough for my uses.

Good deal. Glad to hear. I got the Energy Sus. For $48.00 at Vic Hubbord (sp) And they had them in stock... I looked at it like this. (Tank of gas vs. Poly Mounts)
