Swapping a NP208 for a NP241 - will it work?

I am about to get a '87 parts truck with a good 350 TBI and a good 700R4. IIRC '87 blazer's had an NP208. Since this is going in my '90 Jimmy, it would be nice to keep my NP241 since I have the electronic speedo (no speedometer cable).

The question is is this a straight swap? Can I just pull the 350 and 700R4 from the '87 and mate with my NP241 for a nice and easy swap? Did the output shaft spline count change between these years?

My big problem is the 350 and 700R4 in my '90 is shot and need rebuilding so if I don't have to rebuild the tranny it would be sweet.

    Thanks for any help.

i am not 100% sure but i think the front output is on the opposite side as the Np208???? "could be wrong though"

YES, the 87 350/700R4 combo will bolt directly up to your NP241 transfer case. Just make sure you use your NP241 adapter plate and crossmember.

As far as Bolt patterns and spline counts the 208 and the 241 are identical. After that the simularities go in opposite directions. But to answer your question, Yes. Go for it.

Thanks guys. I thought it should be simple but I wasn't entirely sure. Just preparing before I get into it.
