I have a 69 blazer w/ automatic... and while everyone tells me it has a NP205 t-case I was looking for an adapter from advanced adapters to put in a 700r4 and they seem to think it has a dana 20 in it. They do not make an adapter for this trans and say that until 70 or 71 both auto and maunal had the dana 20. Any insight would help. Thanks.

I read somewhere that some of the first early K5s had dana 20s in them. They were behind inline-6/4 spd combos. My 71 has an SM465 and an NP205. Check http://www.blazer-net.com someone there will know.

If stock, ALL '69 Blazers, manual or auto tranny, had a Dana 20. The Dana 20 has a "U" shaped shift pattern, NP205 shifts straight front to back.

Yea the 205 was not offered in the K5 or the K10 till 70. Even then it was not used in all the trucks. There was even a lite 4 speed and 3 speed that used the dana 20.

I understand the jeep thing I drive a BLAZER!!

Well If the Ushaped shift pattern is what the dana's used then i must have the 205 case which is weird because i am almost 99% sure the truck is original but then again who knows. Thanks guys for all of the help deciphering this little enigma.

I don't think so, but you MAY have a Timken T-221 transfer case, used from 1960-68 or 9. The easiest way to tell is that the rear output of the transfer case sits at the same level as the front output (low).
