First of all i have a reman. np 208. It pops out of 4hi every time i put it in and pops out of 4lo every once and awhile,. Any ideas what is causign and how to fix?
Next, i have noticed that the floor board above the slip yoke is covered in atf. But there is no atf on the t-case. I think that it is leaking when the drive shaft is moving but the seal doesnt look bad. Any ideas?

Sounds like a common problem. Mine does that too. I figure it needs a rebuild. I have 2 hi and 4 low but 4 hi is sketchy at best. I feel better now that I know others are having the same problems.

Anything lifted, with even the slightest that causes any kind of vibration is going to cause that seal to wear out and distort quicker. I got ATF all over the back and i think its great for a rust preventer. Hey i have to justify it somehow. - Doug

I have an np203 and it use to pop out of 4HI all the time too. All it needed was an adjustment. Works fine now. As for the ATF... mine does too. Must be a K5 thing.[IMG]

Mine pops out of 4low and the rear seal wears out fast. Tired of replacing them so I like the idea of a rust preventer. I'll use that. Look at your linkage for the t-case, might need adjusting.

Check the shift linkage, sounds like it needs adjustment. The oil around the slip yolk is common to a certain extent.
