    CHECK YOUR GROUNDS!

    Edit:

Seriously, make sure all your grounds are clean, hitting a bare spot on the frame and getting a good connection. It's amazing how far that will take you.

Well try the ground thing first but also check for a lose connection on the headlight and turn signal and brake light switch first..if not a lose connection the start with the headlight switch first...then go from there ..They are all fairly cheap to replace the only one time consuming is the turnsignal switch..

I had that prob on my drivers side one, and it was the ground that goes into the bulb housing, not the one that went to the body.

Re: HELP my tail lights dont work

i pulled the lights off and on the driver side 1 wire to the tail light was broken and both for the reverse lights were broken right at the light socket

then i crawled under and found what a previous owner did to it.
when he wired trialer lights in, he cut all the wires just before the connector and used wire nuts to hold in the wires for everything. there is like 4 wires hanging and 2 wire nuts missing.

looks like im going to have to rewire the tail lights in 22* and 2 inches of snow that is under my truck /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif

I suggest going to the junkyard and getting yourself a whole wiring harness that is still in one piece. That way you can fix his hack job and plug it right in, won't have to mess with re-wiring the whole truck in the cold.

Re: HELP my tail lights dont work

I just got done fixing it. i had to cut the trailer wiring out and wire it back toghther. both tail light, both brake lights, both blinkers, and one of the reverse lights work. Its getting colder out and didn't feel like trying to fix 1 light that im not going to need.

maybe now i can go apply for a job /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
