I had a thought last night and I wonder if it would work. I'm getting ready to repaint the ol' truck and I want a smooth back end. I have a manual tailgate and I wonder how hard it would be to put a sturdy 12 volt motor in the regulator's place and run it to a switch on the dash. Then all I'd have control of the window from up front and I could "shave" off that ugly chrome handle on the back. Just one of those weird midnight thoughts, anyone tried sopmething similar?

Easier said than done, I can't find any k5 tailgates around here anywhere! If I could, that's what I would do.

Hey crazee, you can buy all the motor stuff from http://www.lmctruck.com kinda high though. I was thinking about a Suburban motor....I know the gates are different, but it looks like the electric motor might be modified to work......anyone else??? I like the idea of a clean tailgate....I say go for it!!
