Sorry for doing like a million posts within a month but in a few more days I'll be out at my uncle's (no computer which means no CK5 [IMG]) doing my resto. Tailgate is in a million pieces and need to know how to get it together. I don't want to mess with the wires to much for fear of not getting the thing to roll up, its very shakey. Basically I need to know what goes where. Off the motor are a brown and blue wire. Going up to the switch is a red and I think peach wire. These lead out of the gate and the four wires turn into three. Two go to a plug and the other goes off without having a plug (got cut in half). I cant tell what color wires are what outside of the gate because they are corroded and faded. Also how do hook up the cut-out switch. There's no wire leading to it, its just hanging there.

Alright, I did some looking and have figured out some of the wiring but need to know how the cut-out switch is wired up.
Right now outside of the gate my two blue wires are spliced into one. Is one of those supposed to go up to the switch.

Just buypass the switch. It sounds like someone did that already. I am planning to bypass mine because it does not work correctely. The window works when it wants to. Someone probably had the same problem with yours and that is why it is bypassed already.

Im starting to lean towards that way too. I've got a HUGE list of parts Im ordering at the dealer's tommorow and I need a reference to see what I was missing. So I went over to the lawn ornament (rusted up '81 K5 with a bad tranny). I drop in a battery and roll down the window. Take the cover of the gate and see what I need to get and try to roll the window back up...nothing! Of course the down still works, smart a$$ tailgate. So I pull a MacGyver and unplug the motor and run a jumper from the down lead of the harness onto the up prong on the motor. Hit the button for the gate to down and it goes back up. Damn I feel clever, lol.

I have the exploded view of a gate from the dealer but have trouble trying to send it to Steve to put on the board I'll try again...

Could you send them my way if you have time. I need allllll the help I can get. Im putting my order in tommorow and have 79 seperate parts that are needed for my gate (counted each bolt individually). Who ever had it before thought torque rods, weather seals, and the other stuff was unecessary.
