    Hi guys,
Today my rear tailgate window decided it doesn't want to go up after rolling it up and down a few times. I unhooked the drive cable for the window, and the motor works fine when you try to roll it down, but does nothing when you try to go up. Both the switch on the dash and the switch on the tailgate both work in the down position, but I get nothing when I try to go up. My manual doesn't seem to include the wiring diagram for the rear window, so I'm not sure where I should start on this. Anyone have any ideas let me know, thanks.

There's an interlock switch built into the side of the tailgate. The gate has to be completely closed before the motor will run in the 'up' postion. It's there to keep the window glass from getting broken if you were to hit the up swtich with the tailgate not fully closed. Trace the wires inside the tailgate, that go to the motor and you'll find the swtich. Most likely the switch is bad, but it could be that it just thinks the tailgate is still open.

ok, not to steal the thread, but i have exactly the same problem, with the same symptoms, except DOWN, not up. My stuff goes up fine but not down. i have to put it down via unplugging the cable. as stated before, both the dash switch and the key work for up, but nothing happens for down at either spot. Any ideas anyone?

Well I got mine figured out, that switch went bad, so I just stuck a peice of wire down in the harness to the switch to bypass it, works great now. Thanks Harry, I had forgotten about this switch.

On mine, the motor was actually hitting on the bottom of the window frame. I just had to bend the motor in just a little bit. Too much bouncing around I guess.
