At least they didn't butcher it too much...removable top is there...hopefully its on a real truck chassis, and not a rebadged Isuzu Amigo, which is what it looks a little like...

I wish they would of had pix with the top still on. As shown, yes - it's very nice. One bit of info they provided was the cargo area dimension (length) of six feet. Hey - that was the main criteria for me buying my '78 - room in the back for my big a$$!!!!

It's nice, and I think deserving of the K5 nameplate. The only beefs I have is the four door design, and lift-gate. I'd rather have two doors and a bigger removable top and more truck-like appearance with the top off. And even though my rear window don't quite work I'd rather have it than a stupid lift-gate. Don't ask why, I just don't like 'em.

If it's stupid but works, it isn't stupid.

I kinda like the rear door idea. It's functional, but it keeps the 2 door look and basic layout, kindof a compromise between the public wanting more and staying 2 door-ish to keep it like a k5.

I wonder how serious they are about this, that is a full scale concept, not a drawing (big bucks). If you look close there isn't any provision for a top at all yet, still in design mode, I think they may be going for a smaller avalanche kind of design, interesting to say the least, could you imagine seeing one of these with a ColoradoK5.com sticker on the windshield. Good approach and departure! It looks sorta like a bobbed K5.[IMG]
Solid axle swap for the front, 14 bolt for the rear, 6" of lift and 37" SSR's and we have a winner! [IMG]

Looks too much like an overgrown Tracker to me! [IMG] Maybe if they lose the window in the rear suicide door and add the rear cap, I could better see what it will look like. Good to see the K5 isn't totally forgotten by GM!!

Are you sure it even has a hard top? It looks like it doesn't have a place for it to bolt on to. Not to mention the top light is blended into the trim where the topper would go over. To me, it looks like it may have a pull down vynil sheet or something that acts like a fastback soft top.

Man that's sweet!. Maybe I spoke too soon when I said the K5 is gone. It does have 4 doors and quite honestly I like it!!!!. Suposidly the top is carbon fiber. it may be the bed rail lip removes for the hard top. It would have to have the third light regardless so I could see that staying there or maybe moving to the tail gate. If you all remember the Pulsar Nissan made. It had a removable hatch and it did have 2 third brake lights. one only worked with the top off. the other was in the hatch.
My wife saw the picture last night and said "I Like it! I like the extra door's. would make loading the kids easy". Now the only question is "How much". It has to be less than the 4 door Tahoe but more than the 4 door Truck. So we are talking about $30k loaded. Hmmm if they gave me 5K trade for the 79 It might be within my reach in about 2 years :) Problem is I need it now.

I'm not too fond of it, it seems like a tracker to me as well. I just can't see one on a trail ride all twisted up or flying through the mud or even on an old fire road cruising back to the favorite fishing spot. Maybe it's just me, but I can't get away from our classic Blazers.

I just also found a convertible version of the S-10 blazer on that same site. They call it the "shark edition".
