Tomorrow, I get to leave Spokane, headed across the Idaho panhandle, through the corner of Montana, and down to Salt Lake City, Utah to pick up a truck I'm towing back home.

From there, I return through Boise, through the corner of NE Oregon, and into the Tri-Cities in Washington State, then back over home to Spokane by Sunday.

My truck runs with a very noticable miss, that is internal (I think a valve or cam lobe is on its way out). I am bringing enough spare parts to fix any minor external problems (U-joints, wheel bearing grease, lug nuts, tires, carb, starter, distributor, plug wires, tools, jacks, water pump, etc...).

Do I make it home in time?

Sounds like a great road trip! But I think by the sounds of your truck I'd pull into a gas station behind an 18wheeler, hitch up to his trailer and get towed! He'd never notice!!

Good luck. Hope your going to pick up a better truck!!

    Good luck Allan!

My experience with my K10 has always been that it makes the long road trips I thought it wouldn't make and can't make the commute across town to work.

My estimates I made last night are the following:

    1,461 Total Miles

    293 Gallons of fuel

    28 hours of driving

I will stop for gas at least 10 times

Rough guess of $570 spent in fuel

I should know within 40 hours from now the actual totals... except for mileage driven, cause my speedometer quit working after I swapped T-cases two weeks ago.

Well, I actually made it all the way home... not quite within 24 hours, but within 44 hours overall. Even 2 hours of sleep mixed in there. My ears are not used to the quiet after being in my truck most of the last 44 hours straight.

Ack, those long trips in the bench seat are pure hell. I thought I'd have to buy new ass. After my last trip to Kanab and back I yanked the bench and stuck in high backs out of a 92 Previa.

    Much better.
