Will the heads from a medium-duty truck fit a standard deck block? Are they really any different from the heads on a standard P/U motor? Chambers, valves, ports?

The heads will interchange, the difference is in the blocks. As for valve to piston interference the piston is the big player in that. One thing to think about, heads like you're talking about typically do not flow well at all, they generally are finished are 4000 rpm. I realize that you may not need high rpm flow but a set of heads from an early 70's big block will work wonderfully for a torquey truck application.

First off let me say I could be wrong, and if so, I hope someone will correct me on this. From my understandings, the heads are the same for a standard big block and a tall deck. The dirrerence is in rocker arms, pushrods, and a wider intake manifold. Like I said, I could be wrong, but that does make sence.

Why would the rocker arms be different?

Something to do with angles if I remember right. I read something about it a few years ago.
