Are sending units interchangeable between carbureted and fuel injected gas tanks?

I have a 31 gallon tank from an '84 (carbureted) Blazer. I want to put this tank in my '71 (w/fuel injection). Is there a FI sending unit from a later model that will fit? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Ther should be. I put a brand new 31-gallon Blazer tank in my Crewcab. It was supposed to fit 81-91 Blazer and Jimmy. I installed a sender from an 87-91 Burb. The same years Blazer/Jimmy one should be identical.

You might want to check to see if your fuel injection needs to have the sending unit in the tank w/ a fuel pump in the tank. Might cause it to vapor lock without it
