tb cable? 700r4

    i have an 87 jimmy with a 700r4 and it isnt shifting right. I was told to adjust my TB cable is that the same as a detent cable?

    You're talking about the TV cable (stands for throttle valve I believe). It connects to the throttle linkage just behind and to the driverside of the TBI unit. To adjust...there's a tab that can be pushed in to unlock the cable. Then, you cycle the pedal to the floor, and you're done...it will lock itself back in position.
    Sorry if that was a crappy job of explaining....Haynes goes over it in their repair manual if you need visualizations. Otherwise, if you just need a little more clarification, just ask.
