Would a '92 TBI 454, new 4L80, and NP205 work? Would it be better to get a TH400 for simplisity? Or would the 4L80 go with the electronics on the engine easier? I have a 700R4 now with a '91 case. I believe it has '86 working parts though. Someone tell me what to get that will last longer than one year before I have to buy another. I already have the engine but need to install it still. I'm affraid of destroying my 700R4 and 208 with the engine. Thanks /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

To run the 4L80E, you need to buy a tranny controler. They are around 800 bucks I believe. I would run the 700r4/208 combo till it goes, then worry about it.

Try to find a trans and motor together that's probably the cheapest way to go about this. You're at pretty low altitude so the motor's going to put out the rated power with a heavy truck so it's not a great situation for a TH700 with less than a perfect build.

What beef up tricks did you do to your 700R4? I'm looking at several options, but really like the overdrive. Please be specific as possible. Thank you

Check your other post on this board, I lined out some specifics there.

The TBI454/4L80E/NP205 is stock offering in a '91 crewcab. (91 only!)
