Hey everyone, I got a question about a TBI swap. I just bought an 87 K5 for 500.00. The motor and tranny are shot. I was wondering if it's possible to swap the TBI setup from the 87 and put it on my 83, and what mods do I need to do in order to accomplish this task. Thanks in advance.

pull the heads and intake, place them on yours, then get all the sensors off the donor, pull the computer out and wire it all up, just go from one to the next . Or get a painless wiring kit for $300

If you do this, I'd also get the interior harness from the donor, it will make for a much cleaner and simpler swap. Wish I had.

Also, you don't have to swap the heads, you can modify the 4 center bolt holes on the TBI manifold to work, use an aftermarket one, or use a 4 barrel one w/an adapter plate (try the thirdgen.org site for info on this).
