Lost my manual and have two quick questions.

What is the base timing for an 87 TBI engine, 0 degrees?
What sensor do I need to disconnect to set the timing, the one right by the thermostat?

    Thanks, Pete.

It has been a while since I have done this, but I think the computer interface for the ignition timing is located on the right side (passenger side) of the firewall in the engine compartment.

Base timing is O but you can boost it up to 4 without problems If you run mid grade gas or better. Will help performance and milage.
Look on the firewall by the power brake booster. you will see a tan wire with a black stripe hanging out of a big ol wire loom. Disconnect it at the weather tite connector and set the timing. Reconnect after setting timing and you are done.
