    with USB thumb drives getting larger and larger in capcity, do you think that in the future, whole computer systems will just be run VIA thumb drives? I think it'd be awesome to take it from computer to computer and always have your file system with you. Heres an example of the sizes available

    Nah , you won't ever get rid of the desktop for awhile . Geeks still need something to mod . You may see the technology in laptops and portables since its shockproof and will stay put even with no power .

    But geeks need their home base desktops with all the lights and fans and such . Besides people are making money selling desktops to joe sixpack anyway still .

    Maybe in several years it could catch on , but not until the hardrive manufacturers buy the thumbdrive people and put a buch of thumbdrive chips into a case :thumb:

    i dont give a rats ass about my case, lol i just want my speed and data. but i know the geeks out there like lights (like ricers? lol) of course what ever seems logical and like a good idea will never happen

    Branndon, its already possible (and being done)


    google: knoppix (or any other linux livecd)


    livecd + usb HD = portable rig that runs on anyones rig.
