O.k. folks here we go again. Anybody interested in doing this run please email me at one of the address at the bottom of this post.

We had 4 K5's and one K10 attend the event last year and I am pretty sure that everybody had a great time, axle joint break, stuck K5 and all, not to mentions a broke mirror, door dings and dents and countless scratches.

This year the event will be in the same place TELLICO, for those of you who have not heard of it, its just above Murphy NC and its in the Natahalia National Forest. There is not cost to attend other than the 5 bucks a day it costs to ride the trails. We will be camping in the trails area, this is primitive camping, no showers, bathrooms ect. If you want those there are several motels and campgrounds withing 30 min ride of the trails that offer these ammenaties.

Depending on how many folks show and and what kind of rigs we have will determine how we do the trail rides and which trails we run. I would like to do some of the more aggressive trails that are there, but will be glad to lead a ride each day that takes on some of the lesser trails, by no means are the lesser trails wimpy, I just want a little more challenge. If you are planning to attend, please be advised that you can get body damage on these trails, this is not to discorage you or say that you will, but you need to understand that it is a good possibliity. IF it rains the possibility gets higher as the trails get slippery and, well S**T happens!

You can do some of these trails with an open diff, especially since Grim, Keith and myself are well equipped as far as rigs and recovery equipment. Some of the others that attend will no doubt be as well equiped, so dont be worried, we are not going to leave anybody or get you stranded.

Last year a great time was had by all and I look forward to doing it again this year. Take some time and take these great 4x4's out where they were meant to be, on the TRAILS.

Email me at either of the following 2 addresses and I will put you on a mailing list so that you can get updates to the event, I am also going to post them here.

Last year I had three passengers! If anyone wants they could ride with me. This is what I brought last year. Extra-hubs,both front axles(10 bolt)extra rear axle(12 bolt) fan belts, radiator hoses, all the tools to do the above,u-joint press, jack stands, the list goes on. I think you get the point. I try to bring extra in case anyone else may break also. I had heard a lot of stories so I brought everything. May sound like over kill but I saw several rigs with busted axles.

Whoever rated them trails must have been driving a SNIPER, the ratings are a little off!

The worst you can do, hmm, at Dixie, one of the guys on trail 11 DESTROYED his Jeep, took 6 rigs to haul what was left of it out.

Yeah we will probably run the easy loop of 4-5-6. I have run that several times bone stock. It actully got easier this year as they went in and ran a backhoe down that loop to build new water bars and to make room to get the gear in to built the new bridges. Unfortunaly if you haven't been to Tellico you will have lost your chance to run 2 of the water crossings that often got coverage in the mags. They are building bridges at Fains Ford and rought water crossing [IMG]
That loop would be the one to cut your teeth on at Tellico. I hope to have 35's and be locked next year. I just finished a full family cage for my truck. If I can get the gears done I'll roll with you down some harder stuff Dep. I'll probably have an open seat also.
Dep!!!!! Dude Robzilla (the 72K10) is getting a 72 Blazer and making the K10 a tow rig. Problem is he took a job in Phonix AZ and may not be here for the ride.

Got your email and your are on the list, and as a matter of fact there are some good spots to park a motor home, you have to come in on the TN side, I dont know how to do that. Keith might know since he rode all over hell and creation last time when he got lost!LOL

Ohh man he works some deals on stuff. He just put TPI on the K10 and it is awsome! He tore up that Ramsey 9000 and wrote another letter and had the thing dropped on the CEO's Desk! They are sending him a brand new 9500! He already lined up some 1 ton running gear for the K5. He found a totaled 1 ton truck for $500! He's planning on 38's on the K5, TPI and I think he's going to put the 465 and 205 from the 1 ton in the K5. I'm hoping to get the TH350 205 in the k5 off of him if he does put the 465 in. Heck if he keeps the auto I may try to get the 465 and put it in my truck since he has all the clutch stuff.
He's a good Guy. I hate it that he's moving.

Damn, sounds like you need to follow him around with the kind of deals he is finding and the stuff. Is it a permanent move or just till the job is finished?

For your camper you need to come down I-75 south to the Telico Plains exit. Not sure on the exit # yet. It is a straight shot to the campground about 25 miles. Just don't turn on to the scenic hwy. Bad mistake!
