When is everyone leaving? Grim, Depdog, or anyone else want to ride up together? I do not know the way. I'm in Dallas(GA), but don't mind meeting somewhere else. I am planing on leaving Friday nite, but Saturday would be ok, too. If not I guess I will "just look for the McDonalds in Murphy." That must be the most infamous McDonalds for a 1000 miles. Anyway, let me know, Jim.

Hay BigBear I kept looking for Big Jim no wonder I never found you heheh
Ok Depdog and I are going up friday afternoon. We are meeting at the Waffle house at 575 and Barrett pkwy at 1 pm.
Here is the rest of the details from Deps last e-mail to me

Lets meet at the Waffle House that you suggested, 1 o clock sounds good, I
may be a little late, gotta pick up one in Atlanta, but dont think it will
be a problem. I told the people on the Tellico Mail list I made to meet at
McDonalds in Murphy between 6 and 9 pm, then on Sat the Pay box on Trails 1
and 6 seems like a good place to meet, or the one we pass on the way in off
Davis would be good to, you pick, does not matter to me. Also, I am going
to camp at the intersections of trail 1 and 5, thats where we camped during
the Dixie run and it seems there was still lots of room here and there, may
even go across hard water crossing and camp on the other side.

Now from Marrietta when you come up you want to take 575 north like heading to Beasley. After Ellijay you will drive for a while and as you come into Blue ridge you need to pay attention for signs pointing you to Murphy. The left your looking for is hwy/ spur 60 (pretty sure that right). twisty road and you will come into a small town (mineral Bluff?) not far from 575 that you need to make a right at so watch the signs. That will end after about 15 miles or so and you make a right. Thats the main drag through Murphy. The McD's will be on your left a few miles up.

Here are Deps directions to the trails
From Murphy, SC, go north on Joe Brown Highway (Route 1326)
For 2.8 miles. Turn right on Route 1331 and go 5.5 miles. Turn right on Davis Creek, a gravel road, and go 5 miles to the mountain and Allen Gap staging area.

    See ya this weekend.

Sounds like a plan. If my wife can get off in time we'll meet you at Waffel House, if not I'll be about four hours behind you. See you this weekend, Jim.

O.k. we are gonna meet just like Grim said, that waffle house. Gonna be a blast, I would also suggest meeting on Sat at the TN pay site, thats at the intersection of Trails 1 and 6, at the State line campground. Gonna meet at McDonalds in Murphy between 6 and 9 pm on Friday.
