I am still a little unsure about my skills and dont want to incure any towing fees (that could be money for more mods)

So is there a place around Denver that you guys go to test out your modifications before you head to the hills? Ive heard of a off-road park near here.

You don't say what type of truck you are running but I think if you would go up U.S. 6 Clear Creek Canyon toward Central City and Blackhawk. You should find a Forest Service Road the you could play on. If you want to go as far North as Lyons. Turn left onto U.S. Highway 36(?) towards Estes Park, I don't remember the distance from Lyons but I would guess maybe 6-8 miles on the left will be the turn off for Big Elk Meadows. This is a trail that is easy to moderate but will give you a chance to test most modifications. I'm sure the locals guys can expand on places to go.

"just east" being about 60 miles, in Deer Trail. Best bet is to go out there, but not until you find somebody whose willing to trailer you home if need be.

I'm lucky, I have some dirt piles next to the shop that I can screw around on.
