Have you ever been to Coupas Cristy (sp?) for spring break? I was watching worlds best spring break places on OLN, and Copas cristy came in 2nd. A mexican place came in first, missed the name.

Have you been there? Where is it?

I couldn't remember Cancun, it was on the tip of my tongue, I searched on google for "Mexico Spring Break" and it popped up, as did Cabo San Lucas. Corpus Christi I just knew :dunno:

The place you are after is Padre Island....Corpus is just the biggest place nearby.

Texans of all ages dream of spring break at 'padre'....Its like our Mardi gras(sp?)

I used to live there(Corpus). May not have the exact length, but its like 52 miles of beach and parties. For a single guy, it don't get any better than that. If you like wheeling in the sand, its pretty cool too.

I grew up about 75 miles from So. Padre and spend every winter there for the last few years, great place. Spring Break sucks for grown ups (especially if you have little kids) because it's jammed with college kids getting hammered and tearing sh*t up. In addition the summer can suck at times due to the Mexican Nationals, if you didn't grow up on the border it's hard to explain, but they suck to be around. Loud and obnoxious and think they're better than any Americans.

I like to go during the winter because it's nice and quiet, fishing is still good and the locals think it's too cold to do anything (65-70).

This winter I took the family and some of my employees (3Bd 3Ba luxury condo on the beach for $179/night!) and it snowed the first day and was in the low 70's for the rest of the week. Went out in the bay because the snapper fishing was not good and got a good 20 speckled trout between 24-30" ($300 guided for 5 guys all day!).

Padre National Seashore is one of the most pristine in the country (top ten I think) and by far the most affordable.

Oh yeah, Corpus sucks arse compared to Padre!

Maybe it was an old version then if padre is better than corpus? Or maybe they dont know what they are talking about.
    Thanks

I have learned that most people; especially when disagreeing with me, very often have no idea what they are talking about. :p:

Just kidding, they were likely just confused and possibly mistaking South Padre with North Padre (which is technically where you are if you're on the island @ Corpus). But So. Padre definitely is better during Spring Break, I drove there from Austin every year during college (and a couple years of high school). Not for the weak at heart though, you have to have your party game going there.

I don't know if you were referring to me not knowing what I'm talking about or the show...but I have no clue about this texas place, and I wasn't argueing or anything. Sorry if it sounded like that, your response kind of sounds like your gruntled with me? Sorry :(

Nope Stave; I was just being sarcastic about the people who made the show not knowing what they were talking about.

I was not at all trying to give you a hard time, just jacking around. Trust me, you're the last guy I know I'd get gruntled with. :D
