Looking for a decent place to go boar hunting this summer as close to dfw as possible. I heard of a dove place north east of DFW it seems a lot of you go offroading at. Ever see any hogs there?

And aren't I correct in assuming there is no season or lisence requirements for hunting them because there over populated and not natural?

There is no season, but you do need a state hunting license.

I'm 19 now, haven't been hunting since 16 (did it a lot before that) am I required to take the hunter awareness thing?

If you were born after Sept. something 1975ish you have to have the hunter education.

If you are under 17, you need Texas Hunter Saftey Education to hunt alone. If you are under 17, you can hunt with a licenced adult. Either way you need a licence. If you are older than 17, you need to take the hunter saftey course. I'm not sure if you Have to have your hunter education certification number when you get your annual. I have a lifetime license, so they just mail me my paperwork every year. I do have to use my TX hunter education number for my Oklahoma license. To be on the safe side, you should have your license on your person whenever you are doing any hunting activities. Remember, game wardens have no jurisdictional bounds, they can take your guns, truck, house, everything if they have "reasonable" cause.

Speaking of hogs, my friend says they are getting real bad at his place. He mentioned something about a big hunt with a hellicopter...:pimp: I may try to head up there this weekend. I'm picking up some door in Decatur and that's already half way there.
