TH 350 to TH 700

    Planing to swap my TH 350 / NP 203 to TH 700 / NP 241.
    Is`t a good idea?(ratio an so on,milage). Will it fit? (Th700case to engine, and all other things a have to keep in mind.
    My Chevy is Blazer -76 350 4 bolt main and the TH 700 / NP 241 comes from a blazer -89 350,(I will buy it from a junk yard)

    Really good question! All i know is that it`s taken from a -89 Blazer

    all it does is control the Lockdown on the 700R4 i swaped in a Th350 and rebuilt the NP241 the low range rocks on this with 2300 stall... /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif /forums/images/graemlins/usaflag.gif www.zombieoffroading.8m.net

    I don't here good things about the 700-r4, but you could be lucky

    The 700r4 is usually happier with a lower geared axle. I think you have this covered (5.99:1 Volvo portals). You should have a very useable 4th gear even with the 38.5's. Your crawl ratio will be much better:

    TH350+NP203+5.99Axle=29.95

    TH700r4+NP241+5.99Axle=49.49

    Make sure you use a LARGE tranny cooler and you should be just fine.
