    Hi,

I have a TH-400 in my 2wd 77 pickup. It is a fixed yolk model. Dose anyone know if I can take the tail houseing off, cut off the threads and bolt up a t-case adaptor and 205?

    Thanks
    Russ

If it's the short tailhousing (should be), you won't even have to cut it. I used a 78. You will need the correct adapter and 205. Check this out and this, also

    Hi Brett,

Thanks for the info. So do assume that it is a 32 spline, and the 205 needs the short female input?

    Thanks a ton

Like he said, and by the way the 2wd th400 doesn't have threads at the end.
The shaft is drille and tapped for a 3/8" bolt that holds the yoke on.
I am putting a 208 on mine and it came from a 2wd truck.

You are correct, sir. It is 32 spline and will work with the short input with the 400/205 adapter (pre-85, figure 8). Any other questions, just let me know.
