TH350/205 worth buying?

    i came across a TH350/NP205 combo for sale in the local auto trader for $250. since i'm planning on building a 4x4 sometime in the near future, would this be a wise purchase? the TH350 is said to be good, as is the NP205. will this trans be strong enough to hold up to a 355 or a 383? that's what i plan on running, since i have a Vortec 5.7 shortblock that just needs a crank kit. i've had good luck with TH350s in 2wd trucks before, but i'm unsure of how one would hold up in a 4x4. thanks for your input.

    scratch that, i just called about it, and its a 203, not a 205.

    actually, since i'm looking at the doubler, i would need a 203 anyways. so, back to the original question, is it worth buying? when i called the seller, his price is $175, not $250. the ad was misprinted, saying it was a 205 and the price was $250

    $175 for a T350/203 might be a little steep...unless you can verify that the trans is good.

    For a doubler setup, that is the unit you want to start with.

    As far as strength, almost all the BadAss Buggies of Oklahoma use the T350. It's rear bolt pattern allows you to clock the 203 if need be.
