I'm currently doing this conversion and swapped all the parts with Blazer91 (Mike) and we didnt have to swap steering columns as he already had the auto column in his wifes K5. My question is, to disable the nuetral safety switch in the column, do I just tear her down to the nuetral safety switch and take it out of the equation by attaching the two wires together permanently? any help would be appreciated.

Someone had already done that on mine, so yes, you can. I believe ones a large purple wire and the other is...?

Just make sure that the connection is solid and not exposed when you are done and you are all set. Then you can drive around in 4low with the starter :)

I believe the two wires are purple.Cut the wires then run it too a hidden switch.Turn switch on too let it start when you want turn off too not. It's not much but it might help against the current rash of stolen blazers.

Thats a good idea. I already have a kill switch for the distributor but one to the ignition couldnt hurt. :)

    Hey Steven,
Are you going to do a right up on this conversion. It sure would be nice to see all that goes into it, as far as pedals, cutting holes in the floor for the shifter and all the technical stuff. Just a thought.

    See Ya,
    Keith

    I can....it wouldnt be a problem
Matter of fact, thats a good idea.

Grim: reason I'm asking about bypassing the Nuetra Safety Switch is that mine is messed up anyways, sometimes I cant start my truck until I shift the lever a few hundred times..

Mike, Thanks for getting back to me so soon. That will work out great with Tracy dropping off the rest of the parts.
