I have a 77k5. When looking up online to order a vacuum modulator, it list a black line, blue line and a purple line. The one I pulled has a red line. Does this very by year? What year is my trans then?

Look in the vacuum fitting end. I bet you will see a little flat head screw. Your's is an adjustable modulator (or at least the 2 I have with red stripes are adjustable).

It's been a long time, but I think that the stripes denote the upshift RPM range for the modulator. You can buy adjustable modulators, but even those will have ranges that they work within. B&M sells them, so perhaps there is more information on their web site. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
