    Hello All,
I have a TH350 from a 2X4 with a long output shaft. Is there a shorter shaft in a 4X4 TH350? Can this 2X4 TH350 be converted to 4X4 TH350? What is required to convert this tranny over to 4X4?
    Thanks
    Luke

I'm not suer if this is the only difference, but I know the bellhousing is supposed to be stronger on a 4X4. Oh yeah, the tailshaft will be different.

You'll have to take the whole tranny apart to get to the tail shaft. The tailshaft housing is not used in 4X4 applications and a shorter tail shaft will replace the current tail shaft. Other than that, the TH 350 housing along with the guts will work.

That's great news. One more question, please. Where will the speedo cable hook into afterward?

The speedo cable on a 4X4 always hooks into the transfer case output housing. Otherwise it would read wrong in 4LO.
